Thinking about a wedding at Glacier View Turnout? Here’s everything you need to know about planning the dreamiest ceremony in the Tetons!
Glacier View Turnout Wedding
Glacier View Turnout offers a classic Grand Teton backdrop that’s perfect for couples wanting those iconic mountain views. It’s an especially great choice for small, intimate ceremonies—whether it’s just the two of you or you’re bringing along your closest friends and family. The setting is simple but striking, with those dramatic peaks front and center in your backdrop.
One of the biggest advantages of this location is the cost. If you’re eloping on a budget but still want a ceremony site that feels epic, Glacier View Turnout is a fantastic fit. It’s far more affordable than traditional venues, and it gives you all the natural beauty that makes Jackson Hole so special.
Convenience is another major plus. Located just about 20 minutes from downtown Jackson, it’s easy to get ready in town and then head out for the ceremony without a long drive. Plus, it’s centrally located within Grand Teton National Park, which means you’ll be perfectly positioned to explore other scenic spots for photos afterward.
While Glacier View Turnout isn’t quite as well-known as other locations, it’s still a solid option—especially if those more popular spots are already booked. The biggest downside is that it’s close to a busy parking area, so it doesn’t offer quite as much privacy as some of the more secluded locations. That said, it’s still a beautiful place to say your vows, and with the right timing and framing, you can still have an absolutely wonderful ceremony here!
To sum it up, Glacier View Turnout is a perfect choice if you’re hoping for a stunning and easily-accessible location, that will also keep you under budget here in the Tetons!

How to Get Married at Glacier View Turnout
Eloping or having a micro-wedding at Glacier View Turnout isn’t free, but it’s significantly more affordable than booking a traditional venue in the area! To hold your ceremony at Glacier View Turnout, you’ll need to obtain a permit from the National Park Service, which comes with a $200 fee. There’s an application process involved to reserve your date, and you can find all the details on the National Park Service permit website. The process might seem a bit daunting at first, but I can always help walk you through every step to make it easy and stress-free.
Keep in mind, only one wedding or elopement is allowed per day at Glacier View Turnout. So if this is the spot you’re dreaming of, it’s a good idea to apply for the permit as early as possible. While it doesn’t book up as quickly as some other locations in the park, planning ahead will give you peace of mind.

When to Get Married at Glacier View Turnout
If you’re hoping to avoid snow and soak up the best weather, aiming for the middle of summer is usually your safest bet. But honestly? Our absolute favorite time for weddings and elopements in Jackson Hole is from mid-September to mid-October. Summer tends to be much more busy, and you’ll see prices skyrocket for flights and accommodations, so it can be a bit less ideal!
There’s just something magical about fall here. The colors are next-level—golden aspens, deep reds, glowing yellows—and if you happen to catch them at their peak (which changes a bit each year), your photos are going to look straight-up incredible. The air is cool and refreshing, and the soft fall light makes everything look extra dreamy on camera.
That said, you’re not the only one dreaming of a fall wedding. Autumn is super popular in Jackson Hole, so if you’re set on those dates, it’s a good idea to start booking things early. It’s still possible to pull something together last-minute, but the top ceremony spots and vendors tend to get scooped up pretty quickly.
